First of all...CONGRATS on deciding to go to Alaska. I'm going next summer for the first time! Here are a few websites to help you out with a lot of information.

http://www.cruisecritic.com

This site is great. Learn about the ship you're taking, and what you can do etc. Lots of insider tips.

This part of cruisecritic.com tells you a TON of things about Alaska.

A packing list and temperature averages for all year so you have a heads up. The general suggestion is to wear removable layers and pack a variety of clothes, waterproof footwear, and extra socks, and a jacket.

Here is a specialized list for women:

I hope these help. I've been searching for info myself like crazy. HAVE A GREAT VACATION!!

I've been there twice. Weather can change, so do plan to layer. Slacks and shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, binoculars, camera. film. windbreaker (not just a jacket), hat (or earmuffs), gloves, a tote bag, swim suit, formal wear for dinner, bug spray...............

Alaska will have a variety of weather. It can be as warm as 75 degrees some days. You need to pack clothes for layering. It will be pleasant in the ports, but maybe rain in Jeanue and Ketchkan. When the ship is cruising the inside passage it will be rather breezy outside on decks. When you get close to the glaciers it will be cold enough for a jacket, hat and gloves. I suggest taking a warmup suit and a sweat shirt. The ship will likely have a pool, maybe and indoor one and hot tubs, so take swim war. The ship will have a spa so if you want to work out take appropriate clothes for that. You will have two formal nights, so take some formal wear, long dress/suit or tux. Most people dress formal, but a few will not. After 6:00 PM you will be requested to not wear shorts and swim wear in public places, like restaurants and eating places, the show room, the casino, the lounges, etc. So take some "sports casual" clothes, i.e. shirts with collar, long pants, etc.

Otherwise, pack the toiletries you normally take on a trip. Take your camera.

You need to pack clothes that you can layer. Pack a rain jacket or a parka.

You need to layer some clothing.Weather is Alaska can change in a minute and go from hot to freezing cold. Take a jacket and a hat, gloves and comfortable shoes.Depending on the cruise line, there may be one or two formal nights-so pack accordingly.
